Technological devices are often portrayed as weightless and artificial, completely detached from our material world. Yet they are deeply interwoven with the earth and literally part of its history, stretching back billions of years. The connections are difficult to comprehend, hidden beneath the immaculate glamour of sterile surfaces.

In this project I explore the physical reality of my computer and try to make it visible and tangible. In the form of a website and accompanying installation, the materials contained within and the profound effects of human intervention in their creation are revealed and categorised.
